Also weird, when I try to connect to 5 ghz, it brings my network down and none of my devices like my phone are able to connect anymore to 5ghz until I "go offline" or try to connect to a different network. I have made separate SSID's and Passwords for both my 2.4GHz and my 5GHz, however it seems that the only thing that can detect my 5GHz band is my Macbook Pro. One that I know that works is ASUS AC68U, configured as Media Bridge.
